Pantone Colour of the Year 2024

In this post discusses, we summarise a post from the Pantone website which showcases the Colour of the Year 2024 as chosen by the Pantone Colour Institute.

Who are the Pantone Colour Institute?

The Pantone Colour Institute helps companies make informed decisions about colour for their brands or products. This includes colour trend forecasting, brand colour development, custom colour solutions, or product palette selection.

What is Pantone Matching?

The Pantone Matching System (PMS), developed by the Pantone Colour Institute, is widely embraced in graphic design and printing for its universal colour standard. Functioning as a standardized colour reproduction system, Pantone guides or books enable manufacturers across diverse industries and locations to ensure brand and colour consistency without direct coordination. At Dollard Packaging, we use PMS books to match and monitor colours during the print run.

This year’s colour of the year is Peach Fuzz 13-1023.

The Pantone colour chosen often reflects what is happening in the world and this colour seems to want to breathe calm in a world that has seen a lot of turmoil in the past year.

The Pantone website comments on the use of this colour for Packaging and Multimedia Design as follows: “Seemingly tactile, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz welcomes consumers to reach out and touch. Its warm tactility makes it an enticing shade for a variety of products, from food and beverage to cosmetics and accessories. Inspiring thoughts of sweet and delicate tastes and scents, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz tempts the taste buds with thoughts of sweet and delicate scents and treats.”
